I know its been a while but I plan to get the blog back up and running this week. The next Biology test will be on Friday, February 24th. The study guide was handed out in class today. I would like for you to work on the Study Guide by yourself. Once you have done that the key will be put on the blog tomorrow (Thursday) for you to check your answers.
Have a good long weekend and begin preparing for your test!
1. Mitosis – division of the cell nucleus
2. Cytokinesis – pinching in half of the cytoplasm to form two identical nuclei
3. Chromatid – an exact copy of a chromosome
4. Centromere – organelle that attches the chromatids
5. Interphase – the period of cell growth and DNA replication
6. Cell Cycle – the period of growth and division of the cell
7. Prophase – phase of mitosis in which the chromosomes become visible and the spindle is formed
8. Centriole – organelles that regulate cell division
9. Spindle – a web like structure produced by the centrioles to catch the chromosomes
10. Metaphase – phase of mitosis in which the chromosomes attach to the spindle and line up in a row
11. Anaphase – phase of mitosis in which the chromosomes seperate and move to opposite ends of the cell
12. Telophase – phase of mitosis in which two new nuclear envelopes are formed

There will be quiz over the vocabulary words from the cycle sheet on Thursday. Will post the information on the blog tomorrow.
I apologize for not putting the study guide up quicker. I have an ill baby at home and did not have access to my files.

The test over Photosynthesis is tomorrow. You have all had your study guide for over a week now along with the answers. Please spend this afternoon really studying over the material.
